Introduction to Longevity CentralLongevity Central has been added to STCA Grand Central as a celebration of those Scottish Terriers that have lived past 11 years of age. The Scottie Longevity Database is open to any Scottish Terrier born on or after January 1, 1985. In order to join this online database, the Scottie in question must be purebred, have an AKC registration number or litter number and we must be able to locate their pedigree in the STCA's Pedigree Search database. Scotties with Canadian or foreign registrations will be accepted as well. Please join us as we collect data on our senior Scotties,
Understanding The STCA Scottie Longevity Database The Scottie Longevity Database will be divided into two sections. The pink fields in the site comprise the official database. Information included in the database contains the following information:
All of the registration data has to be verified using AKC information and the STCA's Pedigree Search database. If you have a dog with Canadian or Foreign registration papers that you would like to include in the Longevity Database, but it does not appear in the Pedigree Search database, please fill out the form for adding a new record and then send a scanned copy of your dog's registration papers to:
The paperwork for dogs not in the STCA Pedigree database must be received before the dog will be officially added to the Scottie Longevity Database. The blue fields in the site present a statistical summary of the answers to a short questionnaire. Once a new Scottie has been entered into the Longevity Database, the owner will be offered the opportunity to complete a short survey. The information in this survey will not be independently verified because autopsy reports, medical records, and official cause of death reports are not required.
