Scottie Rescue Placement List
This is not a complete list of Scottie Rescues awaiting
placement.
The Scottie rescues listed here have been posted because
we are trying to reach a broader audience in order to place
them due to special needs or a small number of local
applicants.
We have
attempted to list any pertinent placement issues, but applicants
should contact the listed Rescue Coordinator to obtain a
complete description.
This list represents only a portion of the rescue
Scotties available nationally.

Riley & Maggie

I'm Riley

and I'm Maggie
Tennessee Scottie Rescue recently recovered several dogs from
two huge puppy mills. To learn more about these mills,
Google "Lyles TN puppy mill" and "New Albany MS Puppy
mill".
We are still evaluating and treating them, some are
ready to place but others will need some long-term medical
treatment before placement. These dogs need homes where the
owners are dedicated to making a better life for these
wonderful creatures.
The dogs were all raised in Rabbit Hutch-type
cages, and fed only every few days. There were multiple dogs
in each cage, and they had to poop, pee, eat and sleep in the
same cage. Some of the excrement would drop through and pile
up under the cage, sometimes several feet deep, but some
remained inside the cage, and they had to sleep on top of
their own waste. Because of this they may be a little more
difficult to house train, as they have gotten used to
eliminating where they live.
These
dogs have received very little positive interaction with
humans, so most are very leery of human touch, some are down
right fearful and some are hesitant but wanting so very much
to be loved. Just to see a tail wag for the first time brings
tears to a foster mom's eyes. Since they have never walked on
solid ground and have never walked on a leash, most are
fearful of standing and walking on pavement or grass.
These
precious dogs need owners who are patient and understanding of
where they came from, and what they have been through.
Giving these dogs a home will not be easy, but it will
be one of the most rewarding and heart- wrenching things you
will ever do. Because we cannot ship dogs at this time of
year, adoption will be limited to people who are willing to
drive to or those who live near Tennessee.
We can
arrange some transport, but not cross-country. These dogs have
been though so much, they do not need to be passed through
several hands before arriving at their forever homes.
Please consider all the aspects of this type of
adoption, and if you think you are up to the task, please fill
out an online application* and be sure to indicate that you are
interested in one of the TN puppy mill dogs. For more
information on the dogs that are available, contact Tennessee
Scottie Rescue at
jgmcafee@tnaccess.com or visit the Tennessee Rescue
Website at

* Regarding the On-Line Rescue Application.
A few people have had trouble with the Access Code page that
blocks direct access to the application. This page is
necessary, because of the tremendous volume of computer
generated SPAM that we experience when access is not
restricted. If you experience any problems, send an
e-mail to Jim Orsborn, STCA
Webmaster and I will send you a direct access code.
When filling out the application, please provide an entry
for
ALL of the
Required fields (e.g. use NA if the field is not
applicable). Applications that do not include data for
required fields will not be processed, and your entry data
will be lost.
Please double check your e-mail entry. When your
application is complete, it will be turned into an e-mail
that is sent to the selected Rescue Coordinator. You
will receive a copy of this e-mail at your address, so check
to see that your system will accept inbound e-mail from
administrator@stca.biz .
