STCA Scottie Rescue Placements
Introduction
This listing has been added as a new Web page in the STCA Rescue site at
the request of a few rescue groups that asked for the ability to showcase
selected rescue Scotties that are available for placement within their
area.
Participation in this list is strictly voluntary
In fact, several of the STCA rescue groups have indicated
that they do not intend to participate in this voluntary
list, even if they have
dogs that are available. So please consider this as
only a partial list of all rescue dogs that may be available
nationally.
Although an attempt will be made to keep this site current,
local rescue workers are actively trying to place these Scotties, so don't be surprised if a specific Scottie
listed as available has already been placed when you contact
the coordinator.

Placement Restrictions
Each local Rescue Program has their own
placement criteria.
However, all of the programs require an application before
they will consider placement. STCA Rescue Coordinators
use the On-line STCA Rescue Application to start the
application process. Coordinators check the
references listed on each application and some require a home
visit before placing a Rescue Scottie. The final
placement decision for each Rescue Scottie is made on the
basis of the individual needs of the dog. Rescue
coordinators are looking for the "best possible" home to
meet those needs and they have the right to decide against
placement if needed.
Placement decisions are made on the basis
of the individual needs of each rescue Scottie.
