STCA Legislative Update
Salutations to all members!
It is indeed an election year again! It's a very important one as you should already know. In this WrapUp I invite you to please take a look at the AKC PAC "Political Action Committee."
From the AKC: "Political Action Committee (PAC) is a private organization that collects funds from its members and makes political contributions to those in office or those running for office. The funds from a PAC can only be used as campaign donations. The AKC PAC is set up to help elect dog friendly candidates."
We all saw the APHIS rules, a fine kettle of fish that came down from government employees who our politicians pressured to create 'rules to deal with internet pet sales.' Special interest groups pressured those politicians.
And we still have the hostile to breeders PUPS federal legislation on the burner. That has not been put to spleep. Also many state-by-state anti dog laws are being introduced. We desperately need officials who will work with us and not against us. Please read more on the AKC PAC and the benefits we can have by donating to this hard-working and dedicated committee. We may not know all the dog friendly candidates, but they do!
From the AKC: "What is the AKC PAC? The American Kennel Club Political Action Committee (AKC PAC) helps elect dog friendly candidates. The purpose behind the fund is to protect your rights as a breeder, dog owner and fancier by helping elect leaders who share that commitment."
