I wish to express gratitude to the Web Team Members of STCA from all of us who use this site. It is due to your knowledge and tireless efforts that we have such an incredible amount of information readily available to us. It is your hard work and dedication to maintaining and continually upgrading this marvelous site that makes it such a tremendous value to us all. Everyone is always amazed at what you do and how fast you do it. Thank you so very much!
In particular, I wish to thank Bob Gann, Michael Krolewski and Mike Bohl for your teachings and support. Thank you so much for all your guidance and help along the way as I have worked on these archives.
Janet Tomlinson, Historian
The following are articles from Bagpipers in the late 90's. I have joined them together in one document for your enjoyment.
The first mention of computers to be used by STCA is on page 8 of the February 1990 Winter Issue Volume XLVIII of the Bagpiper: "The Board agreed to look into having a computer program written for our needs and to have the Tally System explained in the new Handbook." Today we have a state-of-the-art computerized system with programming by Michael Krolewski and, as you know, this wonderful website which has been perfected by this team 20 some-odd years after the idea was first mentioned.
